The Methodology
Detail: streets named for Saka, Madueke, Saliba, and Arteta near the Emirates.
The length of each road is proportional to that player's competitive appearances. A first-team debutant occupies the smallest street. A long-serving captain can run across several junctions. The longest streets belong to the players who defined the era.
A scale 3D-printed model of the stadium sits on the map in the building's true geographic footprint. The map is dated to a specific moment — the close of a transfer window, the fortnight of a Championships, the day a trophy was won — and the revision is set in the lower-right cartouche in the manner of an Ordnance Survey survey period.
The Studio
OS MasterMap licences are available to qualified businesses, but the cartographic and editorial work that turns OS data into a finished piece is what distinguishes the studio: the methodology of player-as-road, the discipline of which venue to map for which trophy, the conventions of the OS cartouche applied to a sporting subject.
The studio is independent and founder-led. It does not, and will not, produce work for institutions or clubs without a written licensing agreement. It does not produce on speculation. Every piece is dated, numbered, and signed in ink by the cartographer.
About the studio →Tier Two · Commissions
A private Commissions service for buyers who want a piece tied to a specific moment — the season they were taken to their first match by a parent, the year a child was born, the date of a wedding or a particular championship.
Each Commission is a one-of-one, signed and numbered as 1/1, with its own Certificate of Authenticity. Lead time four to six weeks from brief to delivery.
